Viewing the generated data is crucial in ensuring that a data simulation module is functioning correctly because it allows for direct assessment of the output produced by the module. By analyzing the data generated, one can confirm whether it aligns with expected patterns, formats, and values based on the simulation's design specifications. This validation process helps identify issues in the module's functioning, such as potential bugs in the code or problems in the algorithm used for data generation.

In contrast, checking the module's configuration may help recognize whether the module is set up correctly but won't necessarily indicate if it's performing as intended. Testing the connection string is vital for connectivity but does not directly relate to the validation of the data produced by the simulation. Observing the hardware performance provides insights into the overall system efficiency but does not ensure that the logic of the data simulation itself is sound. Therefore, viewing the generated data serves as the most effective method for verifying that the data simulation module functions as required.
